Floors at the beach live a harder life
A Jacksonville Beach floor deals with things an inland floor never sees: sand ground into the entry, salt air, wet swimsuits dropped in the hallway, and sliders opened to a lanai during a rain shower. Carpet holds all of it. Waterproof LVP sheds it — which is why the Beaches are where we replace the most carpet. The package below is the same fixed price as Jacksonville, with the beach-specific checks done at the free measure.
What the package includes
- Waterproof LVP in the in-stock colors
- Installation, one room or a whole home
- Standard cleanup
Plus ($4.49/sq ft) adds new shoe molding and a moisture barrier. Premium (from $4.99/sq ft) uses a thicker plank. Under 500 sq ft, small rooms use the flat prices on the homepage, starting at $895. The full breakdown is on the Jacksonville LVP package page.
Quoted separately, in writing
Carpet and pad removal ($0.50/sq ft), tile or glued-floor removal (from $2.00/sq ft), dumpster ($400 when we haul debris), shoe molding or quarter round ($2.99/LF, included in Plus), floor leveling (from $75/bag), transitions ($35–45 each), stairs ($85–110/step), toilet reset ($99) and furniture moving ($50/room). Details are on the removal and floor preparation page.
Raised cottages and slab homes, north and south
Jacksonville Beach housing runs from raised beach cottages in the older blocks to slab-on-grade subdivisions further south, plus condo towers along the oceanfront. On slab, we check flatness and moisture. On a raised wood subfloor, we check flex and soft spots from old leaks. Either way it happens at the free measure, and anything beyond the package is written on the quote before work starts.
Beach rentals and second homes
A large share of Beaches flooring work is in rentals and second homes, and the questions are practical: How fast between guests? What survives a summer of turn cleanings? Click-lock waterproof LVP answers both — quick installs, mop-clean turns, and a damaged plank can be swapped without replacing the room. If the property rents, say so on the form; we schedule around the booking calendar where we can.
Sand is the honest enemy
No floor is scratch-proof against beach sand, and any installer who promises one is selling. The wear layer on the in-stock plank is built for normal traffic; the habits that protect it are a door mat, felt pads and sweeping the entry. That is also why darker, grained colors are popular at the beach — they hide the daily grit between cleanings better than pale, flat tones.
Condos along the oceanfront
Oceanfront buildings commonly require sound-rated underlayment under hard floors and restrict install hours and elevator use. Send the association's flooring rules with your request and we confirm the package against them at the measure. Neptune Beach and Atlantic Beach homes follow the same package pricing; coverage details are on service areas.
