Tile is the original beach floor
Long before vinyl plank, beach houses ran on tile for a reason: it does not hold sand, it does not swell with humidity, and a wet entry mops clean. Jacksonville Beach tile work today is mostly bathrooms and showers in cottages and condos, kitchen backsplashes, and entry and lanai-adjacent floors where water shows up daily. Porcelain is the default body tile for those rooms — dense, hard and low-absorption.
What we set at the Beaches
- Porcelain and ceramic floor tile
- Wall tile and kitchen backsplashes
- Shower floors, walls and curbs when the shower is part of the agreed scope
- Layout planning so cuts land in sensible places
- Removal or surface prep when the existing floor or wall needs it first
Photos of finished work are on the projects page. The published $3.99/sq ft on this site is the LVP package in Jacksonville Beach — tile is quoted separately, after a measure.
Showers a block from the ocean
Beach showers work hard — sand, sunscreen and daily use by a house full of guests. The setting work is standard; the difference is the system behind it. A shower is not a dry wall: waterproofing is discussed at the measure and included when it is part of the agreed scope, with the system and any warranty confirmed on the quote. Shower floors get small-format tile that follows the slope to the drain and gives footing when wet.
Raised cottages: stiffness before tile
Older Jacksonville Beach cottages are often raised, with wood subfloors that move more than a slab does. Tile over a flexing floor fails at the grout lines first. At the measure we check the subfloor's stiffness and condition; reinforcement or cement backer is written into the quote when the floor needs it. Condo floors are the opposite case — concrete, flat, but with association rules on sound underlayment and work hours that we confirm before quoting.
Rentals: durability and the calendar
For beach rentals, the tile conversation is about turn cleanings and bookings. Porcelain floors sweep and mop between guests, grout gets sealed after it cures, and resealing is normal maintenance every few years in wet areas. Because tile work has cure days built in, the written quote lists the days we are in the house and when the room returns to service — tell us the property rents when you request the measure.
Neptune Beach and Atlantic Beach
The same crew and the same quoting process cover Neptune Beach and Atlantic Beach. The general tile scope is on the Jacksonville tile page and the full coverage list is on service areas.
