How to read these examples
Every number below comes from the published price list: the $3.99/sq ft Promo package (500 sq ft and up), Plus at $4.49/sq ft, Premium from $4.99/sq ft, the flat small-room prices under 500 sq ft, carpet removal at $0.50/sq ft, tile removal from $2.00/sq ft, the $400 dumpster when we haul debris, and the rest of the add-on list. The examples are estimates. Your written quote after the free measure is the final price, because only a measure confirms the square footage, the current floor and whether the slab needs leveling.
Square footage is the floor area being covered. Closets and hallways count. Most quotes round up for cuts and waste on the measure, so the number on your quote can be slightly higher than your own room-by-room math.
Example 1: one bedroom with carpet, about 180 sq ft
Under 500 sq ft the per-square-foot packages do not apply. A 180 sq ft room falls in the 151–250 sq ft tier: $1,195 flat for in-stock waterproof LVP, installation and cleanup. Carpet removal adds 180 × $0.50 = $90, and the dumpster is $400 when we haul the debris. Estimated total: $1,685. Moving a bed and dresser out of the room is the $50/room furniture add-on if you would rather not do it yourself.
Example 2: two bedrooms and a hall, about 420 sq ft
Still under 500 sq ft, so the 351–499 sq ft tier applies: $1,895 flat. Carpet removal: 420 × $0.50 = $210. Dumpster: $400. Two doorway transitions to tile in the bathroom and kitchen would add $35–45 each, so roughly $70–90. Estimated total: $2,575–2,595.
Example 3: living, dining and hall, 600 sq ft over carpet
At 500 sq ft and up the package price applies. 600 × $3.99 = $2,394 for the Promo package. Carpet removal: 600 × $0.50 = $300. Dumpster: $400. Estimated Promo total: $3,094. Plus, which adds new shoe molding and a moisture barrier over the slab, is 600 × $4.49 = $2,694, plus the same removal and dumpster: $3,394. On a Jacksonville slab home, Plus is often the better value than buying shoe molding separately at $2.99 per linear foot.
Example 4: 1,000 sq ft first floor that has old ceramic tile
Package: 1,000 × $3.99 = $3,990. Old tile has to come up first, from $2.00/sq ft, which adds from $2,000, plus the $400 dumpster. Estimated total: from $6,390 before any leveling. Tile removal often leaves thinset ridges and low spots, so plan for some leveling: spot leveling is $75 per bag ($150 minimum) and area self-leveling is $2.50/sq ft at a 1/4" average ($300 minimum). Example 5: 1,200 sq ft whole home over carpet, Plus package, toilet reset
1,200 × $4.49 = $5,388. Carpet removal: 1,200 × $0.50 = $600. Dumpster: $400. LVP in a hall bathroom means pulling and resetting the toilet ($99). Four transitions at $35–45 each add $140–180. Estimated total: $6,627–6,667 (Plus shoe molding and moisture barrier included; carpet removal and dumpster separate).
Example 6: 800 sq ft over carpet with a staircase
Floor: 800 × $3.99 = $3,192. Carpet removal: 800 × $0.50 = $400. Dumpster: $400. Stairs are priced per step at $85–110, so 13 steps adds $1,105–1,430. Estimated total: $5,097–5,422. Stairs take longer than open floor, and the step price covers the extra cutting and nosing work.
What changes a quote after the measure
- The real square footage, including closets and waste for cuts
- What is on the floor now: carpet removal $0.50/sq ft; tile or glued floors from $2.00/sq ft; floating LVP or laminate $0.75/sq ft; dumpster $400 when we haul debris
- Slab flatness: leveling is listed on the written quote before work starts
- Stairs, transitions, toilet resets and furniture moving
- Choosing a Premium plank instead of an in-stock color
Military, veterans and first responders can ask about 5% off. If you already bought your own plank, that is a custom labor quote, not the $3.99 package.
