Braga Remodeling: $3.99 per square foot for material and installation, using in-stock waterproof LVP, for 1,000 sq ft and up. Labor only (you supply the planks) starts at $2.00/sq ft.
A published local range: Gator Carpet and Tile, a family-owned Jacksonville flooring store, publishes luxury vinyl plank at $8–$17 per square foot installed, in three grades: $8–$10 good, $10–$13 better and $13–$17 best, with a $500 job minimum. Their price includes the flooring, installation, standard floor prep, vapor barrier, quarter round, transitions and furniture moving. It is a well-organized, transparent price list from a showroom with a wide product selection. The two prices are not the same package, though, so here is what each one covers.

Worked example: 1,000 sq ft of carpet to LVP
Our package: 1,000 × $3.99 = $3,990 for material and installation. Add carpet and pad removal (1,000 × $0.50 = $500), the $400 dumpster if we haul it, and shoe molding if you want it (for example, 300 linear feet × $2.99 = $897). That comes to about $5,787 before any leveling, transitions or stairs.
The published range: 1,000 sq ft at $8–$17 runs $8,000–$17,000 all-in for the flooring, prep, vapor barrier, quarter round, transitions and furniture moving, plus carpet removal (1,000 × $0.35 = $350), per the same guide.
The gap is real, but the comparison only works if the product is comparable. Their range spans several grades, including premium plank; our $3.99 uses the in-stock waterproof colors. Ask any installer for the product name, the wear layer and the plank thickness, and compare those along with the price.
How to compare any LVP quote
- Get the price per square foot with and without material.
- Ask whether removal, the dumpster, quarter round, transitions and furniture moving are in or out.
- Ask for leveling to be written as a line item before work starts.
- Ask for stairs as a per-step price.
- Compare the product: brand or line, wear layer, thickness and whether it is waterproof.
