How store installation programs work
The big stores generally do not install with their own employees. Lowe's says its installation program uses "a network of Independent Service PROviders" and starts with an in-home measurement by an independent installer, after which Lowe's prepares the quote (Lowe's Installation Program, Lowe's flooring installation). Floor & Decor says it "partners with Installation Made Easy" for professional installation (Floor & Decor installation services). The Home Depot also sells flooring installation services; check its current pricing and terms directly with the store.
These programs work well for many people. Prices vary by store and project, so we don't quote theirs here — get their written quote and compare.

Already have the boxes from Lowe's, Home Depot, Floor & Decor or online? We install it from $2.00/sq ft, confirmed on a written quote after a free measure. Carpet removal is $0.50/sq ft, tile removal starts at $2.00/sq ft, and there is a $400 dumpster fee when we haul the debris. How to compare quotes fairly
- Is the quote per square foot of floor, or including waste?
- Are removal, haul-away, leveling, transitions, baseboard/quarter round and furniture moving included?
- Who comes to your house, and who do you call if something needs a fix?
- When is the install date?
